I found this etched into a student desk this morning. It made me think, and then it made me a little sad.

the reason for tears…..
Sounds like a great place to respond! The gift of hope is a beautiful thing!
I was waiting for a longer story of the reasons YOU love (wife, kids, dog*, etc.). It is sad, though, that kids feel the need to defile school property…still. this would have been a good thing to turn into an in-class assignment. Stand in front of the class and recite the words that were etched and then tell them to write a poem or essay about the reasons they love or choose not to love
I never thought about using this as a prompt. I really like that idea though…
