W is for . . .

Wanderer Above a Sea of Mist — Caspar David Friedrich

“Stand on the peak of a mountain, contemplate the long ranges of hills. . .and all the other glories offered to your view, and what feeling seizes you?  It is a quiet prayer, you loose yourself in boundless space, your self disappears, you are nothing, God is everything.”  — Carl Gustav Carus

Don’t think I can add much more to that.

Take care.

  2. This painting is on the book cover of our copy of Mary Shelley’s “The Last Man,” a book considered one of the first in the post-apocalyptic genre which was my P-Day post–P is for Post-Apocalyptic. Makes me smile.
